Tali Westwell - Salon Manager
Tali has been in the hairdressing industry for 14 years and has worked on the floor as a hairdresser for 10 years. At the age of 14 Tali started working at Pasquales Hair Design as a Saturday girl and then started her hairdressing apprenticeship full time when she turned 16, she then moved to Saks Hair and Beauty where she finished her training at L'Oreal Studios. Then moving to Pure Hairdressing in April 2001, Tali was one of the original stylist that started at Pure from day one. Over the last 10 years Tali has worked her way up through the salon to Salon Manager, she helps Salon Owner Maria to maintain the high standard of hairdressing that has continued to have been achieved over the last 10 years. Tali also goes on regular L'Oreal Techinal courses at L'Oreal training academy in London to learn new techniques and skills that she brings back to the salon to teach to the rest of the team. Tali also takes part in customer service courses for 365 which is an organisation for professional hairdressers, where she learns vital skills that helps her lead the team and salon to bigger and better things.
Tali has said that the highlights of her career are, first qualifying as a hairdresser and then taking part in many competitions. Recently qualifying as an NVQ assessor so now she trains and assesses Pure's future professionals, which she really enjoys. Also becoming Pure's Salon Manager means that she can lead and help all the team members to make the best of themselves and to help them to forward their career within Pure Hairdressing.
Tali's main career ambition is to make sure Pure Hairdressing continues to be as successful as possible and that the next 10 years are even better than the last.
Jessica Hyland - Salon PA
Jess started in the hairdressing industry working as a Saturday Girl in Beez Neez Hair and Beauty 14 years ago, then after finishing school she went on to attend Mid Kent College doing Hairdressing NVQ level 2 full time for the next 2 years. After qualifying Jess went on to work at Pure as a colour technician in March 2002, she worked on the floor for a year but decided that hairdressing wasn't for her but still really enjoyed the hairdressing industry and then moved on to be the salon reception manager. As well as managing Pure's front of house over the years Jess took on more and more responsibilities within Pure, Jess manages everything that goes on behind the scenes that keeps the salon running but knowone really sees. Jess was recently promoted to Salon PA where she works very closely with the Salon Owner Maria to make sure the mechanics of Pure is running to the best of it's ability. She still highly involved with the front of house but her role is more advisory.
Jess's career highlighs so far are being promoted to Salon PA as it gives her more time to focus on the running of the salon which she is really passionate about, and also winning employee of the year 2010 which was voted for by the team members.
Jess's main career ambition is continue to help Pure Hairdressing grow and become even stronger.
Kyrsty Williams - Senior Art Director
Kyrsty has been in the hairdressing industry for 9 1/2 years she started her career in 1999 she left school and went straight to Mid Kent College where she studied Hairdressing NVQ level 2 and in 2000 she joined Hair Connection where she worked as a Saturday girl. After finishing college in 2001 Kyrsty started her career full time as a stylist in Hair Connection, where she continued to work until 2004 when she joined Pure Hairdressing. In just over 6 years Kyrsty has worked her way up the salon very quickly from a £25 stylist up to a £45 Senior Art Director. Kyrsty is one of the salons specialists in colouring, wedding hair and hair extensions, she loves a challenge and loves to get stuck into any new services or products that we have a Pure. Kyrsty is also one of the salon trainers she holds weekly training sessions with Pure's 1st year future professionals where she teaches them everything from shampooing to perming.
Kyrsty has said that her career highlights are working her way up the salon to be the salons Senior Art Director and also achieving the A1 award which means she can be a hairdressing assessor, she widely uses this qualification when she is training Pure's future professionals.
Kyrsty feels that her ambition in her career is one day to open her own salon or to teach in a college or an academy.
Victoria Cracknell - Art Director
Victoria started in the hairdressing industry 9 years ago when started training at Mid Kent College studying Hairdressing NVQ level 2 whilst training Victoria worked at her local salon in Walderslade as a Saturday girl. Two years later when Victoria finished her training she commenced her career in a salon in Rochester where she gained experience working as a junior stylist, Victoria then joined Pure Hairdressing in 2003 as a graduate stylist and has now worked her way up to Art Director.
One of Victoria's career highlights was going to L'Oreal Professionnels Colour Trophy in 2005 which she really enjoyed as she got to see some amazing hairdressing which really inspired her to work towards doing competitions. Victoria has also enjoyed taking part in many L'Oreal Professionnel courses at their academy in London.
Kim Freeman - Art Director
Kim has been a qualified stylist for over 6 years and she commenced her career in 2004 when she started her training at Maria Edmund 2 years later after finishing her training Kim worked as a stylist for 2 years in Cut Loose. Kim then forefilled one of her dreams and went to work on a cruise ship as a stylist where she also learnt massage techniques. After working on the cruise ship for a year Kim joined Pure Hairdressing 31/2 years ago where she started as a stylist and has very quickly worked her way up to Art Director.
Kim's career highlights are working on Thomson Celebration cruise ships where she travelled the Mediterranean getting to see and enjoy many different destinations and also styling passengers hair for the grand balls that took part on board. Kim is also very proud of being promoted twice in just over 3 years.
Kim would love to go on to get her A1 award so she can teach future professionals in the skills and techniques that she has learnt.
Karen Price - Senior Stylist
Karen left school and went to Mid Kent College to study beauty for a year but after finishing Karen decided the beauty industy wasn't for her and she wanted to become a hairdresser. Karen then commenced her training at Pure Hairdressing, Karen worked as a future professional for 21/2 years where she gained all the knowledge and skills she needed to become a hairdresser. Karen has now been working on the floor at Pure as a stylist for 5 years.
Karen said that her main career highlight so far is coming to Pure with no skills and now she is a senior stylist and is working her way up at Pure.
Karen wants to work her way up the column and become a Art Director and she would also like to take part in training sessions to teach younger stylists their skills.
Keely Tidman - Stylist
Keely started at Pure a Saturday girl and when she left school she started her NVQ level to at Pure. Keely qualified 2 years later and then went on the floor as a full time stylist, while doing this Keely continued her studies by doing NVQ level 3 in advanced hairdressing which she completed in a year, she has now been on the floor for 3 years and has grown a big client base. Keely loves experimenting in hairdressing taking part in competitions where she can show her creative side.
Keely says that her career highlights so far are, completing her NVQ level 3 in advanced hairdressing as it has given more skills to use in the salon, being promoted in her 2nd year of hairdressing. Keely is also very proud of coming first in The Hair Academy hair competition, Keely was up against over 50 hairdressers and in the competition and she came out victorious.
Keely would love to one day be the owner of her own salon and also taking part in more competitions and one day doing hair for runway shows because she loves doing crazy hair up looks.
Charlene Berry - 1st Year Future Professional
Charlene was at Mid Kent College for a year studying NVQ level 1 in hairdressing after completely she then joined Pure. She started her NVQ level 2 hairdressing in January 2011.
Charlene's career highlight so far is being offered the position of future proffesionnal at Pure Hairdressing.
Charlene's career ambition is in the future to own her own salon hopefully somewhere aboard.
